Going back to a topic I mentioned before: the state of cosplay.
Somehow I found myself severely disappointed with the cosplay I saw this year. There were, of course, an equal share of gorgeous and badly made costumes (a majority still being in between), but the thing that bothered me most was the amount of plain gothic/j-rock cosplay this year. It seemed like a much more abundant crowd of them this year...in fact, I think there may have been more of them than actual anime cosplayers. When I mentioned it to Scat-chan, her theory was that people didn't want to go all-out because our venue was so much more public this year. She'd even seen some of the usual cosplayers not in costume, and had even heard one comment that she didn't want to because of the place we were in.
Now if that really is the case, it really upsets me. I've been thinking about it a lot lately, about the fans who hide their 'love' of anime from their friends and other people in their lives. So tell me, how is it you can love something and still be ashamed of it? As an otaku and as a person, I find this very insulting. When I love something, or someone, I'm very passionate about it. This passion is the fuel that keeps me going, and I refuse to be ashamed of it! I wore my bunny costume into my store to pick up something after the con, damn it! How DARE 'otaku' disown their interest to the public?!

Okay, I think I'm done ranting now. ^_^; Gomen, I just HAD to get that off my chest! To make up for it, I might have a Plushie Story next time...ja ne.

Song of the moment: Hitori no Yoru - Porno Graffiti. I finally found a song that Yoru can sing, yay! Now if only I could find an image song for Sage...
